The Story
I’ve always liked Dylan. Something about him just resonates with me.
He just does his own thing. It’s kinda hard putting yourself out there, people can be so critical about you and your work. I try to put as much of my personality into my hats and films. so when someone criticises it, it’s hard to not take it personally.
But I kinda realised I was making things to make others happy.
I think the trick is to make something you love. That way it doesn't matter what people think, ‘cause you love it and it’s the best you can do. I kinda think this is what Dylan is. Love him or hate him, it’s him. He plays music he wants to play. People kept trying to put him in a box. Well, this hat deserves the breeze I think, flaunt it and love it.
I’m the person who puts Dylan on at a full swing party and everyone’s like, get this depressing shit off. But I’m also the guy asking the bartender to turn the music down when I’m out. But I guess Id’ prefer to have a good conversation than screaming in a club. Or maybe I just have bad hearing.
I could kind of come up with a story about how I got into Dylan’s music and found some obscure correlation between that and hats. But the truth is he just does what he digs and it works. I guess I’m trying to do the same. Be you and if people don’t like that, well they’re probably not worth having in your life.

Quote on hat:
“Though I know that evening’s empire has returned into sand. Vanished from my hand. Left me blindly here to stand, but still not sleeping.”
